Dynamic Pilates Manly regular, Warwick B started with one class a week and now does four or five. He’s keen to encourage more seniors to take Pilates classes at Dynamic Pilates. These are his words…
“My name is Warwick, I’m 67 and essentially a retiree, I do have a part-time job that involves driving people to and from the airport and to and from other appointments. Long hours in Sydney traffic can leave me feeling pretty stiff and sore.
Without the type of Pilates offered by the team at Dynamic Pilates, I think I’d find it very difficult to enjoy my life as much as I do.”
They understand that we are all different and respond in different ways to different types of exercises. Even in the group classes there is room for individual choice on exercises.
Notwithstanding, all of this the best thing about Dynamic Pilates for me is that there is none of the AGEISM you often find at other places of exercise. I feel very comfortable taking my place and going through the routine with other men and women of all ages. The instructors are tuned into this and will often subtly fine-tune an exercise for those of us that may not be as flexible, mobile or as strong as our more junior classmates. They are very skilled in doing this in way that enhances the experience and allows you, as a senior, to get genuine value from the exercise. In the two years I’ve been going to Dynamic Pilates I’ve never had the same class content twice, so the variety helps to also stimulate you mentally as well as physically challenging you.
I want to encourage all my senior colleagues, particularly those over 60, to find a new way of putting some youthful zest back into your body by moving it the Dynamic Pilates way.
I can assure you that you’ll feel stronger, more energised, clearer in the mind and generally happier with yourself. I’ve also found that I sleep better now than I did 10 years ago. There’s nothing like burning off energy through using your muscles to help get a good night’s sleep.
As we should know by now, you’ve got to move it if you don’t want to lose it.
So come on seniors, have a go and book in for a couple of classes and get your body moving. I started at one class a week and am now doing 4 or 5 regularly.”
